Because of our operational reliability, proximity to primary and back-up energy sources and a commitment to investing in constant improvements of our systems, more companies are choosing our region for their data intensive operations.


On November 6th, 2025, the Kansas Corporation Commission approved a unanimous settlement agreement creating a Large Load Power Service (LLPS) rate plan that is designed to serve electric customers requiring greater than 75 megawatts of peak power consumption.

The settlement was a collaborative effort focused on meeting the growing needs of the state’s largest electric users, including data centers and large manufacturers, while protecting other ratepayers from bearing an unfair portion of any incremental associated costs.

Kansas Senate Bill 98 (SB98), enacted in 2025, establishes a 20-year state and local tax exemption designed to attract large-scale, permanent data center developments to the State of Kansas. The program incentivizes capital investment, high-wage job creation, and long-term utility partnerships while requiring comprehensive cybersecurity and critical-infrastructure risk review through the Kansas Intelligence Fusion Center (KIFC).
